Cover Reveal – A Heart for Robbie; by JP Barnby

Today I’m doing something special for a friend.  She wrote a book that was very personal for her.  It has some meaning that she will share with her fans and readers in due time; in her time.  But JP is a rather wonderful person, a real angel among us. She published an entire line of books so she could donate the royalties to homeless LGBT youth, she created a website written by a YA character so LGBT youth would have a place to go and read about other kids like them and to feel safe; and she never judges.  Everyone is someone and everyone matters.

When she asked me to help spread the word about A Heart for Robbie it was an automatic yes.  If you’ve never read a JP Barnaby book, you should and this will be a great place to start.

Guest Author – Tempeste O’Riley – Desires’ Guardian and a Giveaway

Welcome, Tempe. Why don’t you start by telling everyone a bit about yourself.

I’m a mom and author, but first and foremost, I’m a mom. I spend my days writing and helping my kids with school work, their hair, and to be happy. I’m one of those weird mom’s that thinks my job is to help them become healthy, happy, and productive members of society, lol. I don’t dictate their education goals though. I have one that wants to be a chef, one a vet, one a princess, lol… And that’s just my boys.

I love to read all kinds of books and am a proponent of Bi/Pan/Omnisexuality. I am always disheartened when I see how few stories in the M/M catalog are bi (or where a seemingly bi character enters a gay relationship and suddenly all his m/f time was false. 🙁  ) In fact, my release in September has a bi main character. I won’t get on my soapbox, promise. But mainly, I’m a supporter of love and a lover of all. Continue reading Guest Author – Tempeste O’Riley – Desires’ Guardian and a Giveaway

Update Part 2 – New – and Not So New – Works in Progress

These Works In Progress (WIP – not to be confused with Wayward Ink Publishing’s WIP) updates are always a bugger for me. I have such good intentions, but never seem to have the time to finish anything.

BUT – this time I have some news without hopes or best intentions. This time, I actually have completed stories to announce. (Shocking, yes I know.)

Pilgrimage_headerbanner

Thanks so much, Andy, for letting me visit here today! This is the fourth stop on my blog tour to discuss my new novel, Pilgrimage. And since my characters, Mike and Goran, spend the book on a pilgrimage, I thought it would be fun for us to follow along.

Having been zapped to an alternate universe, Mike must visit a series of shrines to a death god. The second shrine he visits is at a cemetery outside the small village of Ugolin:

Just past the village, a narrow pathway twisted through a flower-speckled meadow and skirted a small hillock before passing under an elaborate iron archway. Mike thought this was strange, because there was no wall or fence, just the arch. Once he was through the archway, he saw hundreds of small metal bowls with lids. They were laid out in careful rows, and the vegetation between each row had been flattened by trampling feet. Continue reading Guest Author – Kim Fielding

Holiday Blog Event: Elizabeth North – Christmas And Pokemon

Andrew invited me to participate in his holiday event, providing the theme of family and kids. My mind immediately ran to the myriad of experiences a mother of four has after spending 20+ years “holiday-ing” with her kids.

  • Josh’s first Christmas, when a roomful of twenty adults sat looking at each other from six a.m. until noon because the one-year-old was still asleep and a mother never wakes a sleeping baby.
  • The year PJ (3) and the cat curled up in matching boxes and feel asleep under the tree.
  • The first year Asia (18) brought a male guest to Christmas morning and my husband felt the immediate need to clean all his guns at the kitchen table.
  • The year the dog got tangled in the Christmas lights, panicked and ran out the door and off into the woods dragging the tree.

If I could provide video, I would have probably chosen one of these stellar moments in my Mommy-memory, but since this is text only, you get the story of Coby and Pokemon cards. Continue reading Holiday Blog Event: Elizabeth North – Christmas And Pokemon

New Releases: Monday August 19, 2013

All authors face the same daunting task – how to get their book noticed. In an effort to help some of my fellow authors, every Monday I’m going to post some of the numerous new books that have been released. For the most part these will be M/M Fiction with a heavy bias on Romance. That will probably evolve over time, but for now that’s were it is.

I’ve not read everything that is listed, though I’ve probably read or will read many. Which means inclusion on the list isn’t an endorsement or suggestion. You should read the blurbs provided to see if you’re interested. I’ll post reviews to books I recommend under the ‘Books I Reviewed’ tab. This is just a partial list of what’s new for visitors of my site to check out. That said if you end up reading something listed here and want to comment – please do. I reserve the right, however, to delete nasty or personal comments.

If you’re an author and want to include a new release, email me your blurb, cover image, buy links and any personal links you want included. No excerpts, interviews, giveaways etc. Those are welcome, but can be discussed separately.

Baxter is drawn to the new young hand, but he’s deeply closeted, and after an openly gay veterinarian shows he’s interested in Matty, Baxter’s repressed feelings lead to an explosive encounter. Spent The Day at DC OutWrite LGBT Book Festival

Everyone has to start somewhere, so today was the first book festival I attended as an author – remind me when I introduce myself not to use my real name. DOH!  Several other authors who’s book are published by Dreamspinner Press were also there; Shira Anthony, Marguerite Labbe, Ken Murphy and H. B. Pattskyn. Purpose Pre-release Give Away(s)

I don’t think I can honestly say I’ve been quiet about the release of Purpose. I mean, I’ve been on three blogs, had them reposted on Facebook and tweeted them. I even remembered folks  a couple times when one was ending and a new one began.  To be honest, with all the ‘views’ I’ve gotten, I expected more people would sign up for something free. And it’s not just an eBook. I’m trying to give away a $15.00 gift certificate to Dreamspinner Press. That way if you already bought the book or if you don’t want the book, you can just take the money and buy whatever you like in Dreamspinner’s store. And you can enter multiple times. Each blog stop – and two are still open a third is coming soon – is giving a way an eBook, plus each time you comment on a blog hope your email is entered to win the gift card. You can get up to four chances to win that way. Here are links to those contests that are still open if you want to go sign up:

Anne Barwell – ends June 15

M.A. Church – ends June 16

Elizabeth Noble – Starts June 20 ends June 24.

But maybe I didn’t make it easy enough?  Each blog stop does require you answer a question.  So I’ll make this easier – well hopefully it’s easier.

I’m going to give away another eBook copy on my site on June 21, 2013 – the day Purpose is released.  To enter, starting today and running thought midnight on the 20th,  just 1) comment on this post- no email required, or send out a tweet with a link back to this page; or leave a comment on the Facebook post for this giveaway.  All who enter will also be entered to win the $15.00 Dreamspinner Press Gift Credit.  I think that makes it a bit easier to enter.

Last – my dear friend Lily Velden is having a special pre-release giveaway for me as well.  Anyone who comments on her interview of me that begins June 18 and ends June 20 will be entered to win a $10.00 Dreamspinner Press Gift Credit. This giveaway is just for those who comment on Lily’s site so make sure you stop by and say hello. Here’s a link to her site.

Lily Velden – June 18-20.

If you win/buy the book – please let me know what you think.

The Next Big Thing – Blog Hop

Tag I’m It. 😯

Being new to a group is an interesting time. Everything is fresh, unknown and you get the chance to poke around and discover new things.  But for the not so bright – insert befuddled picture of me here – here’s a bit of advice. When you see something new and shiny that looks interesting – do NOT raise your hand and say ‘yeah, I’m in.”

The ‘Next Big Thing’ blog hop was one of the ‘new and shiny’ things I discovered when I got my spiffy new ‘admit one’ ticket to the Dreamspinner Press author group. Before the rational side of my brain had a chance to realize what was happening, the ‘ohhh lookie, shiny’ side of my brain kicked in. With the pending release of my new book – The Last Grand Master –  on February 1, my brain thought it would be a great idea – and I found myself typing -‘count me in’ and hitting send before I could stop myself.

Most of the souls took pity on the newbie, patted me gently on the head and told me to sit back and observe for a bit before I dove right in. But one evil soul – [not really, but it does make the story work jusssstttt a bit better when told this way] missed the memo on not hazing the newcomers and took me up on my offer.
